Teh Dar Bamboo Circus Hoi An

Teh Dar brings the wild spirit of the Vietnamese Highlands to the stage through the art of the Bamboo Circus. In the K’ho tribe’s tongue, the name means “going in a circle,” representing the eternal cycle of tribal life. The performance is a vivid re-enactment of the rugged mountain world: from wild animal hunts and moonlit romances to ancient tales of reincarnation told through breathtaking acrobatics and contemporary dance.

On stage, artists use only bamboo props to recreate the highland atmosphere. The heart of the show is a live “tribal orchestra” playing sacred instruments like the Goong, Ki Páh, and buffalo horns – some so revered they require spiritual blessings to be performed. Guided by the thunderous rhythm of UNESCO-certified percussions, every daring stunt and melodic note invites you to witness a living heritage found nowhere else in the world.
